“Summertime at Rainier Fruit is high-energy and fast-paced. We can’t take our time with cherries and blueberries, so it’s all hands on deck to harvest, cool, transport, and pack as quickly as possible. Our teams have to turn on a dime when rainstorms hit, race to mitigate heat waves, and quickly adapt to constant changes in the packing plan. Every year, I’m immensely proud of our people diligently working long days to conquer the crop—all while maintaining the high standard expected of Rainier.”
“Growing up in a small town in northern Washington, I experienced the late chilly nights and early mornings with my dad turning on the wind machines to protect the crop from frost, watched the bloom turn into a high-quality piece of fruit, and admired the hard-working people who properly and safely picked each apple and cherry. Now, in my current role as a Production Lead for Rainier Fruit Company, I work with our warehouse packing team to provide only the highest quality of product. Seeing our customers’ satisfaction makes me proud of the many people involved, from the farm to the warehouse.”
